BRPD makes arrest in shooting death of 39-year-old man in January

UPDATE:

18–year-old Cornelius Calloway, of 1251 North Ardenwood Dr. is under arrest in connection with the shooting death of Julius Williams earlier this year.

Calloway is charged with Second Degree Murder and currently resides in the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.

A 39-year-old Baton Rouge man died after he was found lying in the 1300 block of McCalop Street with multiple gunshot wounds around 4:40 a.m. Friday.

Julius Williams of 1513 Myrtle Walk St. died after being transported to a local hospital, according to Sgt. L’Jean Mckneely Jr. of the Baton Rouge Police Department.

There are no suspects, and the motive of the shooting is unknown.
