BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – A long time behind bars potentially awaits Jason L. Istre, age 45, of Baton Rouge.

This is the case after the local man pled guilty to receipt of child pornography.

According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Middle District of Louisiana, “As a result of his conviction, Istre faces a significant term of imprisonment, a fine, and a period of supervised release, which includes sex offender registration requirements.”

So what led to this conviction?

Late last year, Istre admitted to using the internet to get child pornography.

“Additionally, he used sophisticated computer programs to download and store images and videos of child pornography,” according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office, Middle District of Louisiana.

The East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office worked with the FBI on this case.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office, Middle District of Louisiana said that “Istre also possessed 1,700 total videos and approximately 45 images of child pornography, which were accessible through his laptop.”
