A Baton Rouge man is $100,000 richer after he won the Publishers Clearing House prize.
After years of hoping he’d win the day finally came. Monday morning Laurence Bland was surprised with the check at his home.
“It’s great, it’s fabulous,” Bland said.
After years of hospital visits and expensive bills Bland says the money couldn’t have come at a better time.
“I have a lot of bills for health issues so this will cover a bunch of that,” Bland said.
His friend, Patrick Maranto, says he couldn’t think of anyone more deserving to win.
“He’s been through so much medically, physically and emotionally,” Maranto said. “It’s going to lift his spirit to do a lot for him.”
