Baton Rouge Minor League Football Team to host Open Workouts, Community Meeting

The Baton Rouge Riverboat Bandits minor league football team will hold workouts and host a community meeting in anticipation of the upcoming 2019 season.

Former high school and collegiate football players interested in playing full contact football are encouraged to attend both events.

Workouts are scheduled for 10:00am Saturday July 27th, at Kenilworth Middle School, located at 7600 Boone Avenue.

The Bandits are also looking for coaches who want to mentor young men in the community. If interested, contact Coach Freeman at (225) 330-9862 or (504) 994-6655.

There are no fees to join the team.

Along with the Baton Rouge Chapter of the NAACP, the team will also host a community meeting at the MLK Community Center at 4000 Gus Young Avenue on July 25th at 6:30pm to discuss recent violence in the city.
