Baton Rouge police investigating crash that killed bicyclist

BATON ROUGE, La. (LOCAL 33) (FOX 44) — Baton Rouge police detectives are are investigating a traffic crash that left a bicyclist dead Saturday morning.

Police say Paris Hall Spears, 66, was riding his bicycle on Blount Road when a vehicle struck him from behind. The vehicle’s driver left the scene.

A passerby found Spears deceased on the side of the road and reported the crash to authorities at around 7:30 a.m. Saturday.

The Baton Rouge Police Department urges anyone with information on the crash to call its traffic homicide division at 225-389-7819 or Crime Stoppers at 225-344-7867.
