BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD)– Many Baton Rouge residents are saying they are not receiving their mail from the United States Postal Service on time.
“It’s been almost two weeks since we had any mail, So it’s just really hectic trying to track them down for your mail,” Baton Rouge Resident Diane Robertson said.
Robertson said her neighbors are not receiving any mail either.
She said this is a problem as of recently.
“We usually get our mail every day, Now sometimes it’s two weeks or sometimes longer,” Robertson said.
Troy Scott, President of the Louisiana Association of Letter Carriers said the delays are because of a number of postal workers have underlying health conditions and it’s too risky for them to go to work.
“We have another segment that have been exposed or are under doctors orders to quarantine,” Scott said.
He also said the workers are struggling to find childcare during this time of virtual learning.
