Baton Rouge Symphony to hold virtual wine and cheese tasting fundraiser

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – The Baton Rouge Symphony plans to hold a virtual wine and cheese tasting fundraiser via zoom on Thursday, July 30 at 6:30 p.m.

The Baton Rouge Symphony is collaborating with Martin Wine & Spirits and Bistue Cellars for the fundraiser, according to the Baton Rouge Symphony.

Attendees must be at least 21 and purchase a $200 bundle including both types of Bistue wines that will be used, a Cabernet Sauvignon Napa 2017 and a Chardonnay Russian River Valley 2017, as well as both types of cheese the wines are paired with, a 12 month Manchego from Spain for the Cabernet and CowGirl Creamery Mt Tam from California for the Chardonnay.

A performance from harpist Melissa Stockstill Wiggins will accompany each of the wine and cheese pairings, according to the Baton Rouge Symphony.

Tasting kits may be picked up at Martin Wine Cellar, located at 1670 Lobdell Ave., starting Tuesday, July 28.
