BATON ROUGE, La. (NBC Local 33) (FOX 44) — Former LSU wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., who now plays for the Cleveland Browns, is teaming up with Nike to present a special variation of the newly-introduced Nike OBJ Joyride Flyknit in ‘atmosphere grey/lime blast.’
The new shoe pays homage to OBJ’s beginnings in his hometown of Baton Rouge. In fact, “Baton Rouge – Louisiana” is inscribed on a translucent upper strap along with the message, “Best After 05/19/14,” which is the same date Beckham signed his first contract with the NFL.
Additional details of the shoe include contrasting black and lime green accents with graphic insoles and a white outer sole that is consistent with Nike’s new Joyride cushioning technology.
Since going pro, OBJ’s worked hard to show the world his game-changing best. Inside the Joyride’s sole, thousands of tiny beads shape to your foot with each step, working hard so you can perform at your best too. With Joyride’s beads propelling you forward, you won’t look back—that is, until a career full of statement-making moments calls for commemoration.Nike website on OBJ Joyride Flyknit
The shoe retails for $200 and is also available in ‘bright crimson/blue hero.’ The OBJ Joyride Flyknit honoring Baton Rouge debuts in select Nike stores and online starting at 9 a.m., Sept. 27.
