BATON ROUGE, La (BRPROUD) – October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the American Cancer Society of Louisiana is once again kicking off it’s Real Men Wear Pink Campaign.
Together, 27 men who are community leaders around the Capital City, are pledging to wear pink for the month of October, while raising money and awareness for breast cancer education, research and prevention. Every dollar raised helps the American Cancer Society save lives from breast cancer through early detection and prevention, innovative breast cancer research, and patient support.
This year’s group of men have set a goal of $125,000 for the month of October. As of October 1, they had already raised more than $46,000.
