Baton Rouge’s ‘Real Men Wear Pink’ campaign officially underway for breast cancer awareness month

News

Baton Rouge’s ‘Real Men Wear Pink’ campaign is officially underway as October starts breast cancer awareness month nationwide.

This year, there are more than 20 local leaders, businessmen and city-parish officials who have committed to not only wearing pink every day during the month of October, but they’ve committed to raising money and awareness for breast cancer.

Last year’s group of ‘real men’ raised more than $120,000; money that stays in the Capital area to assist the American Cancer Society in breast cancer education, research and early detection.

Two-time participant, Dave Baxter, joined Fox44’s Gerron Jordan, Thursday, to talk about this year’s campaign and how the pandemic is changing fundraising efforts.
