Belle Maison Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Hammond held its Valentine’s Social last week and named two of its residents Sweetheart King and Queen.

John Traylor was named the facility’s king, and Pansy Allen was named queen. Residents voted in January to determine who would hold the titles this year, according to media contact Katie Mitchell.

Allen, a Hammond native, serves as the facility’s Resident Council president. Her proudest accomplishments, according to Mitchell, are her son and her marriage to her husband.

Traylor, who’s from Nacthez, Miss., is a father of four who loves animals. He said his biggest accomplishments are his hard work ethic and his loving family, Mitchell wrote.

“The Sweetheart King and Queen represent the cheerful, fun-loving attitude that we strive to embody here at Belle Maison every day,” Belle Maison administrator Brent Guitreau said. “King John Traylor and Queen Pansy Allen bring light to every room they enter and are a joy to celebrate.”
