BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – BioLife Plasma Services opened its first plasma collection center in Baton Rouge on Saturday.
The center, located at 11620 Coursey Blvd., is the first BioLife location in Louisiana. It’s estimated to bring an additional 60 jobs to Louisiana, according to center manager Jason Kilpatrick.
“The need for plasma is now greater than ever, as the standard plasma collected at this center will be processed into a wide variety of therapeutics for the thousands of patients around the world with rare, life-threatening diseases, such as immunodeficiency disorders, hemophilia and hereditary angioedema,” Kilpatrick said.
