BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – The Baton Rouge Fire Department responded to a house fire in the 3000 block of Platt Dr. around 3 a.m. on Tuesday, September 27.

Upon arrival, firefighters saw a home that was fully engulfed in flames.

Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire in 25 minutes and there were no reported injuries.

BRFD said, “the home had been vacant since the flood of 2016.”

The home is considered a total loss after suffering $250,000 in damages.

BRPD, EMS and Entergy assisted the Baton Rouge Fire Department at the scene.

Fire investigators are still working to figure out what started the blaze.
