Good news for some residents of the City of Walker.

You can safely drink your water again.

The Department of Public Works in Walker released this statement:

The City of Walker Boil Water Advisory affecting Fletcher Lane at Hwy 190 moving eastward to Corbin Ave at Hwy 190. Including Glasscock Street, Buff Street, Joe Stafford Street, College Dr to Burgess, Melanie Street, Coco Lane, Tulip Street to Clint Street, Aster Street, Fern Street and J.R. Drive has been rescinded. Water is safe for consumption.

However, The Boil Water Advisory issued on Oct 1, 2019, effecting:   Aime St., Valerie St. and Clarence St. only.  Due to the much smaller area affected, City of Walker water system employees were able to hand delivered door tag notifications to those customers affected.  The investigative samples concerning this advisory will have results available to us tomorrow from LDH.

You can check for any updates on the City of Walker website.
