Boo Milton’s ‘Brighter Future’ program offering free eye exams, glasses to Baton Rouge kids this weekend

News

Baton Rouge, La (BRPROUD) Community leader Emmanuel ‘Boo’ Milton is launching a new program for children in East Baton Rouge parish, providing free eye exams and glasses.

“I had a friend growing up that needed glasses and never got them because of access and income” Milton said. “I had vision to make sure other children where we’re from don’t have that issue” he posted on Twitter.

Milton is teaming up with Dr. Smith’s Eye Care Center to provide free eye exams to anyone between the ages of 6 and 12 with or without insurance. The exams will be administered Saturday, March 27 beginning at 9:00 a.m. but registration is required. The exams are only available to people living in East Baton Rouge parish.

Milton says space is limited. Anyone interested in reserving a spot can call (225) 751-4100 and dial “2” to reserve.
