BPRD identify victim in deadly shooting on Huron St.

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRProud) –

UPDATE:

32-year-old Johnny Mitchell was shot and killed around 5:30 a.m. on Tuesday morning.

BRPD says the shooting occurred “during a physical altercation at” 3175 North Acadian Thruway West.

The shooting victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

The individual who shot Thaggart is being “detained for questioning,” according to the Baton Rouge Police Department.

The Baton Rouge Police Department is responding to a fatal shooting on Tuesday morning.

Police are looking into an incident that took place around 5:30 a.m. in the 3200 block of Huron St.

The investigation is in the early stages and more information will be provided as it becomes available.
