BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – According to one survey, just over 15% of U.S. children who were asked what they wanted to be when they grew up chose ‘firefighter’ as their dream job.

It’s highly likely that after visiting the Baton Rouge Fire Department (BRFD) during the first week of July, a certain group of young summer camp participants felt the same way.

Kids with the Early Learning Summer Camp had a blast as they toured BRFD’s facilities and even had the chance to take the driver’s seat in operating some of the firefighter’s equipment.

The children also made it a point to show appreciation to the rescuers for all their hard work by giving them “Thank You” cards.
