BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – This September, the Baton Rouge Police Department (BRPD) is hosting a meeting that’s all about its special program for teenagers who want to be involved in local law enforcement and other related arenas.

The focus of the meeting is BRPD’s Explorer Program, which gives 14-18 year old teens the opportunity to work in conjunction with local police, EMS, Boy Scouts of America, the District Attorney’s Office, and the Coroner’s Office.

While some of the program’s activities will include attending and assisting with special events, participants will also learn more about Louisiana laws and courtroom procedures via team building exercises and other teaching techniques.

The upcoming meeting for interested teens will take place Friday, September 16 at BRPD Headquarters (9000 Airline Highway) from 6-8 p.m.
