BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – A new crop of graduates from the Baton Rouge Police Department’s (BRPD) Basic Training Academy will be honored Monday.

According to a news release from BRPD, the 88th class of its Basic Training Academy will graduate Monday, May 9 at Istrouma Baptist Church (1500 Sam Rushing Drive).

The ceremony begins at 9 a.m. and will be available to view on BRPD’s Facebook Page.

The class consists of 26 trainees and four Post-Academy Trainees. 

After graduating from the 22-week-long course, participants will partner up with experienced officers in the Field Training Program.
