BATON ROUGE, La. (BRProud) – The Baton Rouge Sigma Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. and the Emergency Response Team is inviting the public to an Active Shooter Survival Training.

Chapter members say this event has been in the works for almost a year and find it coincidental to be taking place as the country is continuing to heal from the Oxford High School tragedy in Michigan.

“We’re always looking for ways to educate our community. It always seems to be a timely event, because something is always happening in our country,” says chapter President Chi Franklin.

COVID-19 protocols will be in place for anyone attending. Masks are required along with proof of vaccination for all participants 12 and up. Children under 18 must be accompanied by a parent.

The training will take place December 8th at 6 p.m. at Madison Prep Academy’s gym. Guests are encouraged to dress comfortably. Click here to sign up for the training.
