BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – The more than 8,000 students enrolled in Baton Rouge Community College (BRCC) may be interested in securing a part-time job to help cover tuition costs, and an opportunity to do exactly this is right around the corner.

BRCC is hosting a Wednesday, August 3 Career Preparation Day followed by an Interviewing and Hiring Day, Saturday, August 6.

During the events, students will learn more about how to become student workers on-campus and how to secure other off-campus jobs via BRCC.

The institution says its on-campus jobs pay $1/hour while off-campus community service jobs pay $12/hour.

Career Preparation Day

Wednesday’s Career Preparation Day covers strategies for landing and keeping a student worker job and during the event, resume and interview assistance will be provided. Interested students can should meet in BRCC’s first floor Board Room in the Louisiana Building at 10 a.m.

Interview and Hiring Day

Saturday’s Hiring Day will be held from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. in the Governors Building at the Mid City Campus. During this event, some students will be hired on the spot.

Students who hope to secure jobs are encouraged to attend both events.
