BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – A yearly tradition is back at the Baton Rouge Zoo.

The Zoo Photo Contest is co-hosted by BREC’s Baton Rouge Zoo and The Advocate.

If you would like to participate this year, submissions can be made between February 1st and March 1st.

Photos will be accepted in the five categories listed below:

  • Children, ages 12 & younger
  • Junior, ages 13-18
  • Novice Adult, beginners & nonprofessionals
  • Advanced Adult, considerable experience to professional
  • Fun Foto, pictures of you, your family and/or friends having fun at the Zoo.
    (NOTE: The photo must be identifiable as being taken at Baton Rouge Zoo.)

According to the Baton Rouge Zoo, “Judges will evaluate entries primarily based on general interest, photographic proficiency and reproductive quality.”

The winners will be exhibited at the Zippity Zoo Fest.

The Zippity Zoo Fest is scheduled to take place on April 2 and April 3.

The winning entries “will receive a suite of prizes,” according to the Baton Rouge Zoo.
