BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – The Baton Rouge Fire Department received a call about a fire on 4025 Topeka St. at 3:18 a.m. on Sunday, May 31.
Upon arrival, firefighters saw fire on the outside of the residence.
With the help of seven total units, four pumpers and one ladder, the Baton Rouge Fire Department was able to extinguish the fire in five minutes.
Thanks to the efforts of firefighters, the fire did not go beyond the outside of the home.
At the time of the fire, there were five people present at the residence.
No one was hurt and the Red Cross was called to help at the scene.
Along with the Red Cross, BRPD, EMS and Entergy were also available to provide assistance.
The home sustained $10,000 in damages and fire investigators determined the cause of the fire to be arson.
