BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – Members of the Baton Rouge Fire Department were called to 4033 Billops St. around 10:15 p.m.
“Firefighters arrived on scene to find fire and heavy smoke coming from the rear of the unoccupied home,” according to the Baton Rouge Fire Department.
After entering the home through the side door, it took firefighters 20 minutes to put the fire out with the help of seven total units, four pumpers and one ladder.
The home sustained $60,000 in damages.
BRFD says, “most of the fire damage was found in the kitchen and a storage room near the rear of the home.”
Fire investigators are still looking into what started the fire on Monday night.
EMS, BRPD and Entergy assisted the Baton Rouge Fire Department at the scene.
