Investigators determine arson is the cause of the fire

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – The Baton Rouge Fire Department was called to the scene of a working fire on Thursday morning.

The call came in a little before 7:15 a.m. and the house fire was located at 2269 Valley St.

According to the Baton Rouge Fire Department, “three residents were home asleep when they heard someone throw something against the back of the house.”

Those three individuals were able to escape unharmed from the fire.

When firefighters arrived on scene, fire could be seen coming from the back of the home.

It took firefighters a little over 10 minutes to put the fire out.

The home sustained $35,000 in damages and no one was hurt due to this fire.

Entergy, EMS and BRPD assisted the Baton Rouge Fire Department at the scene.
