The Baton Rouge Fire Department responded to 3243 Plank Rd. at 3:40 a.m. on Wednesday, August 7.
BRFD said that upon arrival at the vacant house, flames could be seen coming from the back of the home.
According to the Baton Rouge Fire Department, “crews rushed in to bring the fire under control.”
Firefighters were able to get the fire under control in a little under twenty minutes.
The vacant home suffered $15,000 in damages and BRFD said, “the house received heavy fire and smoke damage.”
BRPD, EMS and Entergy assisted the Baton Rouge Fire Department at the scene of the fire.
The investigation into this fire is ongoing as investigators are working to determine the cause of the blaze.
Baton Rouge fire investigators are looking into what caused a house to catch fire early Wednesday morning.
Fire crews responded to the 3300 block of Plank Road near Winbourne Avenue just before 4:00 a.m. Wednesday.
Plank Road was closed for a short time as crews worked to put out the fire.
It’s unclear if anyone was home at the time of the fire or if there were any injuries.
