BRFD makes arrest in Ardenwood Dr. arson case

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – 50-year-old Roy Weathers is behind bars facing charges of Aggravated Arson and Terrorizing.

These charges stem from an incident that occurred in the 1200 block of Ardenwood Dr.

Weathers was arrested on Monday, August 3rd after “investigators say Weathers intentionally set fire to a parked vehicle that was near an occupied apartment building,” according to the Baton Rouge Fire Department.

The burned vehicle sustained approximately $8,000 in damages.

Thankfully no one was hurt because of this fire.

Firefighters were able to keep the fire damage to the vehicle only and BRFD stressed that the “arrest was made possible with the assistance of Crime Stoppers.”
