BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – The Baton Rouge Fire Department responded to a fire a little after 10:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 25.
Firefighters arrived at 2385 Mason Ave. and found “the front room of the unoccupied home in flames.”
Firefighters immediately went to work putting the fire out.
BRPD says, “they made entry to the home and were able to keep the fire from spreading beyond the front room, bathroom, and hallway.”
It took firefighters a little over 20 minutes to put the fire out.
According to the Baton Rouge Fire Department, “the rest of the home sustained smoke and water damage.”
The home sustained 35,000 in damages.
Fire investigators determined that arson was the cause of the fire.
EMS, BRPD and Entergy assisted the Baton Rouge Fire Department at the scene.
