BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – The Baton Rouge Fire Department was called to a fire at the Hooper Pointe Apartments around 10:20 p.m. on Thursday, September 8.

“Firefighters arrived on the scene to find heavy smoke coming from the apartment building,” according to the Baton Rouge Police Department.

BRFD quickly figured out that the siding was on fire.

Firefighters went to work putting the fire out with the help of seven total units, four pumpers and one ladder.

The fire was extinguished in fifteen minutes and firefighters “were able to place the fire under control before it could spread inside,” according to the Baton Rouge Fire Department.

The apartment complex sustained $1,000 in damages.

There were no reported injuries due to this fire.

BRPD and EMS assisted the Baton Rouge Fire Department at the scene.

Investigators are still working to figure out what started the fire.
