BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – The Baton Rouge Fire Department was called to the scene of a fire at an apartment building on N 22nd St.
Firefighters arrived a little after 8:20 p.m. and found a small fire.
According to the Baton Rouge Fire Department, “a repairman was working on the air conditioning in the rear of the house.”
Firefighters were able to put the fire out in ten minutes with the help of seven total units, four pumpers and one ladder.
BRFD says the repairman “was sweating copper pipes together and accidentally started a small fire.”
The structure sustained $4,000 in damages.
No one was hurt as a result of this fire.
EMS and BRPD assisted the Baton Rouge Fire Department at the scene.
