‘Suspicious’ fire on Colorado Street ruled arson by BRFD

UPDATE:

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – Baton Rouge Fire Department investigators ruled the fire as arson.

Firefighters arrived to find the house “engulfed in flames” and were able to get it under control before it could spread to nearby structures, according to a spokesperson from BRFD.

BRFD said the crew fighting the flames had to retreat as the roof began to collapse.

No injuries were reported.

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – The Baton Rouge Fire Department responded to a blaze around 5 a.m.

The fire took place at a vacant home in the 1900 block of Colorado St.

There were no reported injuries due to this fire.

At this time, the fire is considered “suspicious in nature,” according to the Baton Rouge Fire Department.
