BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – The Baton Rouge Fire Department was called to a vacant house fire a little before 4:40 a.m. on Wednesday, December 14.
Firefighters arrived at the home in the 4800 block of Crown Ave. and immediately went to work putting the fire out.
“The fire started behind the stove in a wall,” according to the Baton Rouge Fire Department.
Firefighters used seven total units, four pumpers and one ladder to extinguish the fire in the kitchen.
The fire was under control in a little over ten minutes.
BRFD said, “The fire was quickly extinguished before it could spread.”
Fire investigators determined that “the cause of this fire was accidental.”
The vacant home sustained $20,000 in damages.
BRPD and EMS assisted the Baton Rouge Fire Department at the scene.
