BRG seeing ‘downward trend in COVID admissions’

Baton Rouge General

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – Despite worries that COVID numbers may increase after Hurricane Ida, Baton Rouge General’s latest COVID-19 numbers are alleviating that fear.

On the day after Labor Day, BRG is reporting the lowest number of COVID patients in their hospitals since July 29.

There are 93 COVID patients in the two BRG hospitals and all but ten of them are unvaccinated.

The news is not all good as “55% of these patients are in the ICU, the highest percentage during this fourth surge,” according to Baton Rouge General.

One reason for the increase is that Baton Rouge General is admitting patients from Terrebonne General.

This is what the numbers looked like at Baton Rouge General on Tuesday.

The Specialty Infusion Center at BRG Bluebonnet has been open for six days and individuals can now get monoclonal antibody infusions at this location.
