BRG sees another uptick in COVID-19 patients, 95% of patients are unvaccinated


BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – The number of COVID-19 patients continues to rise at Baton Rouge General.

Only five days ago, there were 35 COVID-19 patients in the hospital.

On Wednesday, July 21, there are now 54 COVID-19 patients at BRG.

Baton Rouge General provided details about the patients below:

  • 54 COVID patients – that is 21 more than Monday, and an increase from 24 one week ago
  • 40% are under 50 years old 
  • Average length of stay for patients under 50 is 6.5 days
  • Average length of stay for patients in their 20s is nearly 9 days
  • 95% unvaccinated
