BRPD: Alabama freshman admits threatening to bomb Tiger Stadium so friend could win bet

A freshman from the University of Alabama said he threatened to bomb Tiger Stadium Saturday to halt the LSU vs Florida game because his friend was on the verge of losing a large bet related to the game.

The University of Alabama Police Department arrested Connor Croll, 19, on suspicion of communicating false information of a planned bombing on school property.

The arrest came after the Baton Rouge Police Department’s non-emergency line received a call advising that there was a bomb in Tiger Stadium during Saturday’s game. LSUPD was notified and traced the phone number to Croll, according to an affidavit.

The number was pinged to an area near the University of Alabama, and UAPD arrested Croll less than three hours after the bomb threat was made.

Croll has since posted bail, and he was brought to Baton Rouge for an arraignment.
