BRPD identifies 18-year-old shooting victim

An 18-year-old Baton Rouge man was shot and killed on Wednesday afternoon.

BRPD said the deadly shooting “occurred yesterday around 12:40pm in the 4100 block of W. Brookstown Dr.”

Police identified the deceased man as Jarico Selmon, of 4255 W. Brookstown Dr.

Police found Selmon on the ground at 5675 Prescott St.

BRPD said the 18-year-old was “suffering from apparent gunshot injuries and investigators believe that Selmon was running when he collapsed and died in front of the Prescott address.”

The Baton Rouge Police Department does not have any suspects or motives in this case.
