BRPD make arrest in a 2008 homicide

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD)- Baton Rouge Police Detectives arrested Dexter Collins, 40, in relation to the murder of Tangie Swanson, 37, back in 2008.

Swanson was shot to death at the Service Market Grocery on August 14, 2008. Two others victim were hurt but did not suffer life threatening injuries.

Witnesses reported Swanson was at the grocery parking lot when a suspect drove up, got out the vehicle and shot at Swanson.

Collins will be book in the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison charged with second degree murder, according to Baton Rouge Police.

The 2008 investigation is still ongoing.
