BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — The Baton Rouge Police Department has made an arrest in the slaying of 30-year-old Sylvester Harrison and the shooting of a 25-year-old female victim.
Investigators arrested 39-year-old Joseph Berry of 5323 Byron St., whom they believe is connected to the shooting that killed one person and injured another.

Berry was booked in the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison and faces charges of first degree murder, attempted first degree murder and illegal use of a weapon, according to BRPD spokesperson Sgt. Don Coppola Jr.
BRPD originally reported that Harrison was found dead from gunshot wounds inside of a vehicle and that the 25-year-old woman who was injured was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
