BRPD: Man dies from self-inflicted gunshot wound after fleeing from Police

BATON ROUGE, La. (NBC Local 33) (FOX 44) — A spokesperson for the Baton Rouge Police Department said a 30-year-old man from Slaughter, LA died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound early Sunday morning after fleeing police.

Artis Cain Jr. crashed into a semi-truck with a trailer in the 2100 block of Chippewa St.

Cain fled from police in a Chevy pick-up after an officer attempted to stop him for a traffic violation around 1:14 am.

The incident is still under investigation.
