BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – Have you ever wanted to get your concealed handgun permit?

The Baton Rouge Police Department is giving you the chance to do just that on Saturday, September 17.

BRPD is holding a Concealed Handgun Permit Class in Zachary from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.

The requirements for taking the class are listed below:

  • Must be at least 21-years-old
  • Cost: $100 for class
  • Bring your own handgun and ammunition

If you are interested in participating in this class, stop by the Baton Rouge Police Headquarters – Traffic Records division located at 9000 Airline Hwy.

You can stop by anytime between 8 a.m. and 4:45 p.m. and pay for the class with cash, check or money order.

BRPD said the receipt you receive will get you into the class which is taking place at the Joint Law Enforcement Training Center.

The class will be “taught by Baton Rouge Police Firearm Instructors,” according to the Baton Rouge Police Department.
