BRFD contains fire at home on Glenhaven Dr.

The Baton Rouge Fire Department was called to a working fire on Glenhaven Dr. a little after 5:45 a.m. on Tuesday, January 21.

The fire occurred at 11504 Glenhaven Dr. off of Sherwood Forest Blvd. and firefighters extinguished the fire in around 40 minutes.

When firefighters arrived on scene, fire could be seen emanating from the chimney.

The three residents in the home had a fire going on Monday night.

BRFD was able to keep the fire from spreading and the home suffered $15,000 in damages.

According to the Baton Rouge Fire Department, the “fire was contained mainly in the attic area but other parts of the house received water damage.”

Investigators determined that the cause of the fire was in fact, “fire escaping from the chimney.”

BRPD, EMS and Entergy assisted the Baton Rouge Fire Department at the scene of the fire.
