UPDATE:

BRPD says the person found at the scene was a woman.

The body was found in the 300 block of N 12th St.

ORIGINAL:

The Baton Rouge Police Department says a body was found around 6:40 a.m. this morning on North 12th St.

The individual was deceased and showed no obvious signs of trauma.

The coroner will investigate to determine the cause of death.
