BRPD searching for suspect in deadly shooting at Trader Joe’s

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – On Tuesday, Mayor Broome responded to the shooting in the Trader Joe’s parking lot over the weekend.

Now, we have more details and the Baton Rouge Police Department needs your help locating a suspect in this case.

24-year-old Jace Boyd, of 166 McDonald Ave. “is wanted in connection of the death of Danny Buckley that occurred on August 22 in the parking of 3535 Perkins Rd.”

Buckley was shot at approximately 7 p.m. on Saturday, August 22.

Buckley died later in a hospital from the injuries sustained in the shooting.

Boyd is facing these charges:

  • Second Degree Murder
  • Illegal Use of a Weapon
