BRPD’s 86th Basic Training Academy starts on Monday

BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – 29 trainees start their journey towards becoming police officers in the Baton Rouge Police Department on Monday, June 1.

Basic training for the 29 trainees will take 22 weeks. 

BRPD says, “after leaving the Basic Academy, the graduates will be partnered with veteran officers in the Field Training Program.”

Last year’s BTA class contained 32 recruits and started on March 18, 2019.
