Brusly launches new bike share program

News

If you’re a bike lover, listen up! Brusly now has their own bike share program.

Mayor Scot Rhodes says this vision came about two years ago when he took office and wanted to bring something different to the community.

He then got sponsorship from Dow Corporation to get bikes.

So far, 14 bikes can be rented. Each one is complete with a basket, bell, and reflective light.

Rhodes hopes the new program creates more tourism for people to see what Brusly has to offer.

“We’d love to have people come from across the river or any surrounding areas and use our bike share program, see our town and use our levee,” says Rhodes.

Short term bike rentals are available for $2/hour at Alexander Park and The Brusly landing along the West Baton Rouge Heritage Trail on the levee. The bikes can be accessed through the Koloni app on the App Store or Google Play.
