BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – Over the weekend, members of the Black Student Union Club at U-High helped raised money for their organization and the Big Buddy Program of Baton Rouge.
The money raised came from the BSU Cookout for a Cause.
From 4:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Thursday, October 7, parents set up outside the new gym.
75 plates sold out in 15 minutes and this food was available at the event:
- 2 pieces of sausage
- Mac n cheese
- Baked beans
- Water or soft drink
The cookout raised $580 and organizers said, “Students will work directly with Big Buddy to purchase needed items and volunteer their time for hands on service work.”
