BTR Airport invites the public to discuss runway 31 improvements this evening

BATON ROUGE, La (BRPROUD)- The Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport (BTR) invites the public for input on the supplemental Environment Assessment (EA) project for runway 31 on Thursday, Nov. 18 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Exxon Mobil YMCA.

The meeting will discuss the long-term 2016 master plan update on existing conditions, future growth, capacity and facility requirements on standard Runway Safety Area and Runway Protection Zone for Runway 31 the release states.

Topics the meeting will analyze:

  • Landside Development and Improvement Projects,
  • Property acquisition for roadway realignment
  • Realignment of Plank Road including construction of a new roadway
  • Construction of related Plank Road tie-in with existing Hooper Road (with new alternatives to improve both traffic flow and safety which will require elevated sections at the intersections of Plank Road and new Plank Road at the Hooper/Harding intersections

Airport representatives and the EA project team will be available to discuss the project and answer the public questions and concerns.
