BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) — An Indianapolis-based seafood chain plans to open a second location in Baton Rouge.
Juicy Seafood plans to build a second property on Siegen Lane, next to TJ Ribs. The company leased an 8,000-square-foot building that will house the restaurant. According to a commercial real estate agent representing the landlord, Judah Vedros with Kurz and Hebert Commercial Real Estate, they delivered the space as a “cold dark shell” meaning the company will construct everything.
Juicy Seafood’s first local restaurant is located on College Drive in the Village Square shopping center. The chain has other locations in Illinois, Indiana and Ohio.
An application to rezone the area from commercial use to a restaurant was filed by Vedros. The zoning committee is expected to review the request in a June meeting.
According to Vedro, Juicy Seafood is obtaining its construction permit to work at the site.
An expected opening date for the new restaurant has not been provided.
