BATON ROUGE, La. (BRPROUD) – Did you know that Baton Rouge General employs 1,000 moms?

Moms who work for Baton Rouge General are going to “receive a sweet treat set up next to a special Mother’s Day table and floral selfie wall,” according to BRG.

This is happening on Friday, May 7 at the three BRG campuses located at Bluebonnet, Mid City and Ascension.

“Last year, Mother’s Day was very different for most of us because of an unprecedented global pandemic,” said Monica Nijoka, vice president and chief nursing officer at Baton Rouge General. “Many didn’t see their mothers for over a year, with the required social distancing and visitation guidelines in place. But with so many people vaccinated, there’s the opportunity this year to celebrate mothers in a very special way.”

Employees are not the only moms who will be recognized at Baton Rouge General.

BRG says, “patients will get some extra attention on Mother’s Day too, including fresh flowers and a special card on their patient trays.”

Last, but certainly not least, any moms who give birth on Mother’s Day at the BRG Birth Center will receive special treats too.
