Central Fire Department responds to 12 calls for trees on homes

CENTRAL, La. (BRPROUD) – The Central Fire Department has had a busy night.

The fire department confirms that firefighters have been called to 12 different homes with trees on them since Hurricane Ida rolled through the area.

Five of those people are still inside, and a mother along with six children have been sent to a local church shelter.

One of those calls led firefighters to Lovett Rd & Ridge Rd.

According to the Central Fire Department, “the occupant has been removed and transported to a local hospital.”
